Bittersweet beginnings

Last week, Didima was visiting us, and we were all overjoyed to be able to play with Didima all week. Nalini's face says it all!



She also treated us to lots of her delicious home cooking, and we are continuing to enjoy the wonderful food she left in our refrigerator. Having Didima here to help us out was truly wonderful, and I'm worried how we will manage without her.

Tomorrow is a big day for us - it's Nalini's first day at The Barn in the infant room. Sonali's preschool teachers are happy to take kids downstairs to visit siblings during the day, so that is something heartwarming for the girls. However, thinking about Nalini out there in the wide world makes me both excited and nervous. I'm glad she'll be meeting other babies and enjoying their company while exploring nature, art, music, etc. If she is anything like Sonali, this will be the beginning of some very deep friendships for her. I worry too, though, that her good sleeping and eating will become more erratic in the boisterous environment of a room with 6 other babies. Cross your fingers for all of us!
