Fall back
Although we only gained one extra hour today, I've already spent it multiple times over! Still, this fall has been such a whirlwind, if seems like using the "fall back" hour to catch up with this blog was a worthy goal!
Here are the girls and I at the MFA on Columbus Day.
After that, our attention turned almost entirely to the annual show at the end of the month. This was the first year that Nalini was also performing, and she did great! You can see from the pictures below that Nalini is truly enjoying herself, even in front of a crowd of about 1000 audience members!
Such a sunny smile for the Sun Dance!
We were also so proud of Sonali as well. As usual, she worked hard to perfect her dance, and it showed in her excellent performance.
We were so pleased to have Didima, our cousins Ratnadi, Deepda, and Roshni, as well as the girls' school friends and baby sitter Julissa all there for their enthusiastic cheering section.
Here are the girls with their guru, Neena Auntie.
And this is their teacher Kruti, who was also dancing that day.
Didima was able to stay for a few days until Halloween. Here's Nalini as a cupcake at the school parade.
And here are the girls getting ready to go out trick-or-treating: a baker, her cupcake...and a horse?
This year, Jason only carved one pumpkin, but this spooky bat turned out great in spite of the limited time we had this year for Halloween prep.
Finally, this past weekend, Sonali had another performance, this time at a Diwali celebration. She was the highlight of the evening!
This fall has been emblematic of the saying, "the days are long, but the years are short," so I'm glad to capture these moments before they go fleeting by.
Next up: India in 6 weeks!
