Fancy Nancy

Last weekend Sonali had a unique and fun opportunity to go hear Jane O'Connor, who was visiting to read from her new book in the Fancy Nancy series. If any of you have interacted with a 4 year old lately, you will understand the appeal of a French-speaking, accessorizing little lady!

Here's Sonali getting her books signed by the author:

It was very exciting for Sonali to meet Jane, but she was equally excited about the cake (mmmm, cake...) and the super cool outfit our dear friend Alison gave to Sonali after the event. If we haven't told you before, Alison is a high school friend who works at the local independent bookstore as a children's book buyer, and she is a book GENIUS!

And, if you have any familiarity with the books, you'll know that Nancy has a little sister who loves to do whatever her fancy big sister is doing. So that makes Nalini's reaction upon waking up from her nap even cuter!

Happy holidays everyone! Stay safe in the storm. We haven't seen any flakes here yet and hope they continue to hold off until after our friends' holiday party scheduled for this afternoon...
