Hibernating?

Dear Friends and Family,

I am sure you have been wondering if our family has been hibernating through the winter because of blog silence, but alas, the reality is that we have been even nuttier than usual around our house. The combination of holiday prep, finals season, and a shorter gap between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year has merged to make for a truly hectic December.

We have had much fun this month too - including a "trip" to India with the Younger Preschool. Everyday this month, the kids have been taking an imaginary trip to an international destination. The places were chosen based on the heritage of the preschoolers. On India Day, Sunita (Sidney's mom from Mumbai) and I came to visit the classroom. Both of our kids dressed up and looked quite fancy! It was great fun to be able to join the kids for this, and we are looking forward to tomorrow's end of the year international luncheon for the preschoolers.



In other news, Santa made an early stop at our house this weekend since we are going to be at Didima's house for the holiday. Here are Jason and Sonali setting up some cookies and milk by the fireplace.



Look at this fancy Santa peanut butter chocolate chip cookie! I can personally attest to the fact that he found it delicious.



Sonali could barely contain her excitement when she discovered that Santa had come while she was sleeping. Lucky for us, the excitement began at 7 am. I was worried that we wouldn't be able to sleep!



Nalini slept through the first part of the fun, but when she woke up, she enjoyed watching all the festivities from her perch atop the octopus chair.



We are all so excited about spending the holidays at Didima's place, and we look forward to seeing our local friends there as well. Safe travels to everyone who will be driving, flying, or riding to your holiday destination, and have a wonderful holiday celebration!
