3 weeks to go!
Hello faithful readers,
We've been so swamped lately between major deadlines at work and trying to squeeze in numerous last minute family and home tasks that our blog has been a bit slower lately - apologies!
In a nutshell, when we wrote about what we had to do in the next 10 weeks, the list was long and nerve-wracking. Now the list is looking a bit more manageable:
DONE: Wrapping up S's medical school course - 180 high maintenance students can be an exhausting bunch!
TOMORROW: Sending J to Ireland on business (Didima will be around to help me out)
DONE: Sending S to part two of her medical education conference (locally, at least, but still 12 hour days for 6 days)
DONE: Finding S a new home department at work as the current one "restructures" - I'm going to the Department of Medicine and just have some paperwork to do to finalize this.
DONE: Assembling a monster-sized swing set for Sonali (J couldn't resist - see the pictures below)
CURRENTLY: Remodeling a bathroom (our master bath)
SOON: Setting up a big girl bedroom for Sonali (we may reduce our ambitions and just go for new kid-friendly bedding in our guest room until her sister graduates out of the crib as well.)
SOON: Converting the toddler room to a baby room again with a crib
REMAINING: Helping the students who failed my course remediate their grades before I vanish and tying up other loose ends at work.
Looking at this list, it feels like progress!
In the meantime, last weekend was "Wellesley Wonderful Weekend." Saturday, there were open houses at the police station, the fire station, and the municipal light plant. Since Sonali had a fire station field trip coming up at school, we opted to go to the police station. Sonali was so happy to be able to meet the officers decked out in their finest uniforms, get her own police hat, try out the jail cells, and eat some yummy BBQ for lunch at the station.
The Wonderful Weekend festivities also included a parade and fireworks. When we took Sonali to watch the fireworks and a free Beach Boys concert with Pantu Mashi and Mike Uncle last weekend, she was so excited that she seemed to be running on an infinite source of energy - way more than I have at this point anyway!
Also, we had a special treat this week - a visit from our dear college friend Ann. Sonali, Jason, Ann, and I had a great time just relaxing, playing, going for walks, and eating. We hope to see her again soon!

I don't see how you get it all done! Even your current "shorter" list makes me tired! I really admire the life you and Jason and Sonali have created ... pat on the back!
DONE: Trip to Ireland.
ON DECK: Presenting at ADI's Global Technology Conference.
