Lions and Tigers and Butterflies, Oh My!

This summer, we were treated to an unprecedented span of good weather. Shoumita haven't seen so much sunshine since we left California. We took advantage of our good fortune, and brought Sonali out on as many field trips as we could fit in. For example, one day, we took her to the Franklin Zoo, where we visited Butterflies in the Butterfly garden!
This brought a smile to little Sonali's face. :)

Then, we went on Safari, to deepest, darkest Africa. After getting a flat tire, I wrecked the family Jeep right in front of a Lion's den.
Fortunately, the Lion was preoccupied with his sunbathing, and didn't notice as we (not-so-stealthily) stole away. Good thing we had this camera, or you never would have believed it was true!
After all that excitement, we wanted to swim! So, we trekked out to Walden pond, to build sand castles deliberately, front only the essential facts of life, and see if we could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when it came time for lunch, discover that we had no Peanut Butter and Jelly.

This one's for you, Henry David.
