Sonaliisms.

When's the last time you had a conversation with a two year old? A while you say? Well, let me tell you, it's like talking to your college roommate, after he or she's had a just a little too much to drink. Need proof? Well, here are a few phrases that Sonali's espoused recently:

"This is very, very dangerous, you'd better let me do it." Said by Sonali as she reached into the laundry basket, selected a few items, and began to "fold" clothes. A favorite alternative: "It's very, very sharp, Daddy. Let me do it." Said by Sonali when she's handling someting you've asked for, but she doesn't want to give you.

"Walk away, Mommy. WALK AWAY!" This is something Sonali says any time she's told it's time for bed / bath / any activity deemed undesirable at the moment. Obviously, this is a mix up of a parental instruction to "walk away" when someone makes you upset, rather than turning to violence.

"How was your day, Daddy?" The dinnertime classic, masterfully reprised by little Sonali.

And, while we're discussing precocious behavior, Sonali's made tremendous progress in the transportation department. Specifically, she's decided that she hates riding in her car seat, and instead, prefers to drive.
