Birthday fun at 35!

It's been a while since we posted, but we had a very fun family birthday celebration for Jason last night that we wanted to share with you. We went down to Providence, Rhode Island, where in the summer they have a few nights of a waterfire art installation. We started with some yummy dinner in town - you can probably guess which part of the meal was Sonali's favorite.

After dinner, we walked down to the waterfront area to see the waterfires. They were spaced along the river in floating urns that held logs. The fires were lit by a boat that floated down the river with lovely music being played in the background. The whole time, Nalini kept saying, "Oh, wow!" and clapped enthusiastically. The night was such a sight that the girls (mostly) didn't notice that we were up way past their bedtime.

Imagine this with Barber's Adagio for Strings floating through the air.

We also got to listen to some live jazz, and here is the music stage area. The night was filled with lights, sounds, and smiles to remember.

Happy birthday, Jason! Have fun playing cards with the guys tonight! (Speaking of which, I better hit the grocery for snacks...)

Oh, wow! What a lovely place to visit so close to your house. I want to see it with Linda when she comes to Nalini's Birthday and Sonali's graduation. Pictures are wonderful!
It's a big chocolate cake. Yum, Yum...
Love,
Ma.
