She's one!
It's hard to believe that Nalini is one already...the year passed in the blink of an eye. It feels like yesterday that we were dropping Sonali off at school, heading straight for the hospital, and meeting Nalini in person just three hours later.
And here she is now, getting ready to walk on her own at their school picnic. No, she's not walking yet, but she seems excited about the idea of it. Sonali started walking shortly after her birthday, so maybe Nalini will follow suit.
The next day was Nalini's birthday, so we had a small party at home. Nalini got to try some ice cream cake, and you can see both girls loved it. (To see Sonali's first ice cream cake, click on July 2006 for a picture to make you smile!)

No, it wasn't clean, but it was delicious!
The next day, Nalini got to try out her new birthday present - a helmet and bike trailer. (Thanks, Didima!) She loves hats, but she's wondering what to do about this one...
Nalini's birthday party was Sunday, also Father's Day, and below you can see Nalini in her party dress (thanks again, Didima!) and Jason wearing his haute couture tie designed by the world famous designer, Sonali.
Sonali had loads of fun making a pineapple upside down birthday cake for her sister, and we enjoyed celebrating with our friends Avi, Simon, Judy, PantuMashi, MikeUncle, Rohan, and Alison.
Happy birthday, little lady!
And in just a few days, we're off to Amsterdam for a combination vacation and business trip. We can't wait for some much needed down time and for an international birthday celebration for Sonali. We promise to share pictures when we return!

Oh my gosh, the 5th picture with Nalini's quizzical expression is so classic. Looks like a great time was had by all! I hope Amsterdam gives everyone a chance for a little downtime. We are looking forward to seeing you all when you get back.
