Sonali's New Words.

DADA was our girl's first word,
we knew it was just a start.
MAMA was her second word,
but when she spoke it seemed like art.

MEOW and WOOF said cats and dogs,
and also said our Sonali.
SNORTING is what piggies do,
another pleasant memory.

AIRPLANES always seemed to be,
flying almost overhead.
BYE BYE said our flight attendant,
and our little pumpkin-head.

YOGURT is a tasty treat,
she can never get enough.
CHEESE and HAM is also great,
much better than other stuff.

She learned HI early on,
but now she always says HELLO.
Especially with MacDonald,
who hears E-I-E-I-E-I-O.

The COWS in her books always MOO,
when going on a cattle drive.
The MAYOR and his silly friends,
can't stop saying "sakes alive!"

A smelly load arrives in shorts,
with a simple claim POO POO.
When pointing at DADDY's new scar,
it's obviously a BOO BOO.

SASHA is a tubby cat,
likes to sit down and relax.
CLEO is the active one,
always planning next attacks.

HAPPY BABY is announced,
during playful revelry.
BEEP your nose is what she'll do,
in nasal high fidelity.

WAWA BABA is to her,
what water bottle is to us.
PEASE is what she'll often say,
to get a little more HUMMUS.

HOM(E) is where you hang your hat,
and where our little princess dwells.
KISS is what the fishies do,
as does the scarlet pimpernel.

Lions always like to ROAR,
while romping with the other toys.
NEIGH and BAH and GRRRR and BUZZ,
constitute the other noise.

Because our thoughts are nearly spent,
we must end our lovely song.
When you learn some more new words,
we'll have to sing along.
